The London Hotels

Before 19th century, many businessmen used to live in very coaching inns, gentlemen’s club, lodging houses and private accommodation. In the early 19th century, few of the hotels began to build, starting from Mivart’s in 1812. As the railway network started, short-term visitors were seen, and railway hotels were built. These hotels were popularly known as the status symbols near railway stations.

By 2000, the estimated numbers of hotel rooms were nearly 101,269. In 2003, within ten kilometers of Central London, more than 70,000 five to three star hotel rooms were found. In Mayfair, the main focus was provided with luxurious hotels. The largest hotel has 494 rooms and compared to international standards, it is less than average.
 
Many of the hotels were built traditionally such as the Savoy, Ritz, and the Dorchester. Modern boutique designer hotels were being established such as Saint Martin’s Lane Hotel. Four Seasons London and the Hotel of London Hilton on Park Lane were also built.
